Chambers & Partners 2026, Ranked Band 1 for Licensing

Licensing arrangements enable organisations to operate businesses, commercialise assets and comply with regulatory regimes across a wide range of industries. Whether involving intellectual property, leisure and hospitality, technology, or regulated activities, licensing frameworks must be carefully structured to balance commercial opportunity with legal responsibility.

Clarity around rights, obligations and operational requirements is crucial to avoiding disputes and ensuring that businesses can function smoothly. Licences may relate to brand use, commercial premises, software, entertainment activities or specialist regulated sectors. Each licence brings specific considerations, from compliance monitoring and reporting to renewal obligations and enforcement risks.

A practical, commercially focused approach to licensing helps organisations protect their interests while maximising value. By understanding the regulatory landscape and structuring agreements clearly, businesses can confidently pursue new opportunities without compromising compliance.

Keystone’s full-service licensing team assists with all licensing challenges. With legislation constantly being reviewed and changed, it is essential to receive the most up-to-date advice to ensure that there is no delay in obtaining the correct licences and permissions.
