Keystone Law is delighted to announce that intellectual property litigation partner James Tumbridge has been appointed as an Arbitrator and Mediator member of the Patent Mediation and Arbitration Centre (PMAC) of the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
The PMAC of the UPC serves as a specialised institution for resolving patent disputes through mediation, arbitration, and other appropriate dispute resolution processes. The UPC currently covers 18 EU Member States.
James has been appointed for five years, during which he will act as an arbitrator, emergency arbitrator, or mediator in patent disputes falling within the jurisdiction of the UPC.
From 2008, James has worked with IP colleagues and non-governmental organisations and has advised ministers in the UK Government on its participation in the UPC, including contributions to recommended rules of the UPC.
James commented: “After being involved from the start of this important European court, it is an honour to use my intellectual property knowledge alongside my experience of acting as a mediator and arbitrator to resolve patent disputes.”
