Corinne has been advising clients on family law matters for over 20 years and has particular expertise in applications under the Children Act 1989, complex financial applications upon divorce, and issues involving cohabiting couples. She also regularly advises on the completion of pre-/post-nuptial agreements.

Much of Corinne’s work involves an international element, including relocation of children to another jurisdiction or foreign assets upon divorce.

Corinne frequently works alongside a variety of other professionals including financial advisers, pension specialists and therapists to ensure clients are fully supported during and, perhaps even more essentially, after the case has concluded.

Additionally, Corinne is a collaboratively trained lawyer and an active member of the central London “We Can Work It Out” POD group.

Corinne handles complex financial applications post-divorce, frequently dealing with international elements and applications following foreign divorces requiring relief in England and Wales.

Experience

  • Litigated and represented a wife where the original divorce took place in an alternate jurisdiction and a separate application was required in England and Wales to secure financial provision.
  • Litigated and represented a wife where assets exceeded £40 million including complex farming and business structures.
  • Litigated and represented a wife where the original divorce took place in an alternate jurisdiction and a separate application was required in England and Wales to secure financial provision.
  • Litigated and represented a wife in complex financial application where assets exceeded £60 million including business structures and the involvement of the Companies Court.
  • Litigated and represented a husband where assets were located in the UK and India and his wife was seeking division of non-matrimonial assets.

Corinne is experienced in Children Act 1989 applications, including securing protective orders, and supports parents in resolving disputes around child care, contact, and custody through court proceedings, ensuring the child’s best interests remain at the heart of every case.

Experience

  • Litigated and represented a father in ongoing court proceedings involving an application for shared care. Successfully defended serious allegations made against the father.
  • Litigated and represented a mother in lengthy court proceedings to include non-molestation proceedings, application to relocated to an alternative county and child arrangements. Obtained a bar preventing further application by the father.
  • Litigated and represented a mother who sought to relocate to escape domestic violence.
  • Litigated and represented a partner in an application for a share of jointly owned property and an application under Schedule 1 of the Children Act for provision for the child, including consideration of assets held in other jurisdictions and medical needs of the child.
