Rana is a senior employment associate with over 15 years’ experience advising on contentious and advisory employment matters. She supports employees and senior executives on discrimination, whistleblowing, dismissal and redundancy, settlement agreements, and contractual issues, including restrictive covenants.

Rana regularly manages complex Employment Tribunal claims, including factually intensive discrimination and whistleblowing cases, and advises on strategy from early dispute resolution through to final hearing.

In addition to her work as an employment lawyer, Rana has two years’ experience in conducting sensitive and factually complex workplace investigations for large organisations.

Rana advises on complex employment disputes, including discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal, and wrongful dismissal claims.

Experience

  • Represented the Claimant in her remitted claim to the Employment Tribunal in Rajput v Commerzbank AG, which was ultimately successful.
  • Advised and initially represented the Claimant in bringing her claims in the Employment Tribunal in Rajput v Commerzbank AG (1) and Societe Generale (2)
  • Represented an NHS consultant in her factually complex claims of whistleblowing detriment and victimisation against her NHS employer.

Rana advises on settlement agreements and negotiated exits, including in sensitive disciplinary, redundancy, and whistleblowing contexts.

Experience

  • Negotiated a large settlement increase for a senior finance officer at an investment bank who raised race and sex discrimination claims.
  • Settlement negotiation for a senior female executive facing redundancy during maternity leave.
  • Secured a large settlement for disability discrimination and personal injury claims against an embassy.

Rana advises on workplace investigations, including sensitive fact‑finding, grievance, and disciplinary investigations.

Experience

  • Conducted a sensitive fact-find investigation into allegations of sexual harassment against a director of a business, considering internal policies as well as regulatory and safeguarding issues.
  • Conducted a grievance investigation into bullying and harassment allegations by a lecturer at a university.
  • Led a disciplinary investigation into bullying and harassment allegations on the grounds of sexual orientation against a senior director.
