Fraser is a skilled employment lawyer, with over 35 years’ experience in his field, having been called to the Bar in 1976 and going on to qualify as a solicitor 11 years later. He is well placed to advise on all employment disputes, boasting particular specialisms in discrimination claims and prevention, European Works Councils, union recognition and disputes, and whistleblowing.

Fraser also advises on redundancy and restructuring, data protection and employee privacy, and European Works Councils. In addition to his UK practice, Fraser is able to advise on cross-border employment law issues. As well as being frequently cited by the business press, he regularly speaks at major labour and employment law conferences.

Expertise

Fraser advises senior executives and employers on severance arrangements, contract disputes, restrictive covenants and post-termination obligations, achieving negotiated exits.

Experience

  • Acting in a senior executive severance and claim for fraud.
  • Defending and bringing injunctions for team moves.

Fraser acts in complex employment litigation, including discrimination, unfair dismissal, equal pay and union disputes, representing clients before tribunals and courts and advising on risk management and dispute resolution.

  • Representing a brewing company in relation to a complex bonus claim by over 500 manual workers.
  • Acting in a multimillion-pound sex, race, harassment and disability discrimination claim against an investment bank.
  • Acting on a complex disability and race discrimination claim.

Fraser advises multinational employers on restructuring, redundancy, TUPE transfers and employee privacy, providing strategic support on cross-border employment law and European Works Council matters across diverse jurisdictions.

Experience

  • Negotiating a European Works Council agreement covering 15 countries for a manufacturing sector client.
  • Representing an IT sector company on a redundancy programme in the UK and EMEA (across 22 countries).
  • Conducting a 44-country review of redundancy policies.
