Christina is an associate with specialist skills in litigation and family matters. She regularly deals with disclosure and small litigation matters, and assists with larger matters. She is used to drafting preliminary documents as part of divorce and financial proceedings, preparing bundles, arranging for the appointment of expert valuations on assets held in the UK and abroad, and undertaking legal and financial research.

Christina also handles insurance and reinsurance disputes, whether in the court or by arbitration.

Expertise

Christina advises on all areas of family law, including financial matters, children arrangements, and pre/post-nuptial agreements, and is experienced in litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Experience

  • Assisted on mediations concerning complex financial arrangements on divorce involving foreign assets.
  • Acted for a wife in her relocation proceedings to the Democratic Republic of Congo with her son.
  • Acted for mothers and fathers in relation to prohibited steps orders, preventing the removal of children from this jurisdiction.
  • Successfully represented a wife in making an application to the High Court, requesting that the French Family Court assume jurisdiction on the basis that the children are currently habitually resident in France.

Christina advises insurance and reinsurance clients on claims handling, coverage disputes, and policy terms, with experience in Covid-19-related issues, international arbitration, and mediation, providing both legal and strategic guidance.

Experience

  • Helped advise a major international insurance group on issues relating to the recoverability of a reinsurance claim arising from damage sustained to equipment at a project site for the construction of a hydro-electric dam in Ecuador.
  • Acted for a major global insurance and reinsurance group in relation to aggregate Covid-19 related reinsurance claims.
  • Helped advise a global reinsurance group on various matters relating to whether Covid-19 associated business interruption insurance claims and event cancellation insurance claims can be aggregated as a single reinsurance claim.

Christina specialises in high-net-worth family matters, providing guidance on divorce, financial remedies, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, children arrangements, and complex offshore or business-related issues, with a strong focus on alternative dispute resolution.

Experience

  • Helped advise a husband who was the CEO of a children’s toy company on various financial aspects following an acrimonious separation from the wife.
  • Helped litigate a successful high-value case worth £22m.
  • Represented the son of a high-profile, wealthy industrialist Turkish family in resisting a Part 3 application, concerning assets totalling in excess of £1 billion.
  • Acted for the wife-to-be in an ultra-high-net-worth case where the husband’s assets were worth approx. £200m.
