Keystone Law is well-placed to advise on contentious and non-contentious issues for music individuals and corporate organisations.

Legal 500 2026, Music

The music industry is a global, fast‑moving environment where creativity, commercial strategy and rights management intersect. From artists, labels and publishers to producers, streaming platforms and live‑event operators, the sector is shaped by evolving audience behaviour, rapid technological change and increasingly complex routes to market. Protecting intellectual property, maximising revenue streams and managing reputation are central to long‑term success for all participants.

As digital consumption continues to accelerate, music businesses face growing challenges around rights licensing, monetisation, data use, platform partnerships and international distribution. Emerging technologies, from NFTs and immersive formats to AI‑generated content, create new commercial opportunities while raising novel legal and regulatory questions. Touring and live performance remain critical revenue drivers, yet they bring their own demands in relation to contracts, logistics, risk management and global compliance. Across the sector, talent agreements, brand partnerships, royalty structures and dispute resolution require careful planning and specialist oversight.

Clear, strategic guidance is essential in an industry where creative ambition must operate alongside detailed legal and commercial frameworks. By combining strong governance with an adaptive, forward‑looking approach, music businesses and talent can protect their interests, navigate change with confidence and unlock sustainable long‑term value.

While we provide our services across the whole music sector, our team of music solicitors particularly excel in advising clients on the exploitation of new opportunities, the commercialisation of what they have created, and the protection of their contractual and intellectual property rights, and in all aspects of dispute resolution.

At Keystone, our team of music lawyers have proven track records of advising a diverse range of companies, global players, individual talent (whether songwriters, musicians, producers and others), managers and others who return to the firm time and time again for a highly commercial, personal and expert service.
