Hannah is a consultant solicitor who works in our professional discipline and healthcare regulatory team, specifically advising on cases involving regulatory and disciplinary matters across the healthcare and wider professional sectors.

She has acted on behalf of both individual registrants and professional regulators in complex and high-profile disciplinary proceedings before professional tribunals, and in associated litigation, appeals, and judicial review proceedings, and has advised on regulatory investigations.

Hannah has also acted for medical, dental and optical professionals, as well as regulators of legal and non-healthcare professionals. She has particular experience in cases involving allegations of dishonesty and sexual misconduct.

Expertise

Hannah has advised professional regulators on the investigation and prosecution of complex and high-profile disciplinary cases, including sexual misconduct, financial misconduct and anti-money laundering concerns, before professional tribunals and on appeal.

Experience

  • Acted for the SRA in prosecuting a significant case of sexual misconduct in relation to multiple junior colleagues resulting in a striking off order.
  • Defended appeals, judicial review proceedings and restoration applications made by a solicitor convicted of overseas harassment offences, and in relation to connected applications for civil restraint orders preventing vexatious litigation against the SRA.
  • Resolved proceedings for dishonesty against a junior solicitor in a “moment of madness” case with health matters justifying a departure from the usual order of striking off.
  • Advised on the necessity for anonymity orders, private hearings and Special Measures for vulnerable witnesses in Tribunal proceedings

Hannah has advised medical, dental, optical and health professionals in proceedings before the GMC, GDC, GOC, and HCPC, including advocacy before interim orders panels and regulatory tribunals.

Experience

  • Acted for a dentist in multiple proceedings before the GDC and PCT, successfully avoiding erasure and advising on remediation.
  • Represented an orthopaedic surgeon in long-running GMC proceedings with wide-ranging clinical and non-clinical allegations resulting in no allegations being found proved.
  • Represented a GP in relation to theft and misuse of controlled drugs and health concerns including in interim orders, substantive and review hearings.
