Dave is a partner in the commercial property team, with a practice focused on acquisitions, disposals, lettings, financing, development, and secured lending. He also advises on the real estate aspects of corporate acquisitions and financing.

Dave’s clients include a wide range of private companies, business owners, developers, corporate landlords and tenants, involving commercial property acquisitions, disposals, and landlord-tenant matters.

Dave has particular expertise in hotels, care homes, pharmacies, offices, retail units, and industrial warehouses.

Dave is experienced in handling high-value commercial property acquisitions and disposals, advising investors and corporates on complex transactions involving offices, retail premises, and mixed-use developments.

Experience

  • Advised and acted on the property aspects in connection with the disposal of the shares in a prominent hotel in London for circa £95m.
  • Acted for a property investor on the purchase of a multi-let office block and dealt with the letting of office units.
  • Acted for a number of private operators of pharmacies on the acquisition of pharmacies by way of asset purchases and acted on the property aspects in respect of share purchases.
  • Dealt with the acquisition and disposal of care homes for care home operators by way of asset sales, advising on property aspects of share sales and purchases.
  • Acted for a franchisee on the acquisition by way of asset purchases of convenience stores operating under a substantial UK franchise.

Dave advises landlords, tenants, and investors on all aspects of freehold and leasehold transactions. He also advises on the negotiation and execution of commercial lettings, including leases to major retail, fashion, and hospitality brands.

  • Acted for a number of private operators of pharmacies in respect of the grant and renewal of leases of their business premises.
  • Acted for a substantial property owner on the letting of its retail portfolio to tenants including high-street banks, supermarkets and restaurants.
  • Acted for a high-net-worth property investor on the letting of a parade of retail units in central London.
  • Acted for a high-net-worth property owner on the letting of premises in London to a multinational luxury fashion house.
  • Acted for independent property owners on the letting of restaurant premises.

Dave has extensive experience advising on property financing transactions, including refinancing and portfolio finance for high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients in residential, hospitality, and healthcare sectors.

  • Acted for a high-net-worth private landlord on the refinance of a portfolio of 26 properties.
  • Acted and assisted on the property aspects of the refinancing of two substantial and well-known hotels in central London.
  • Acted for a high-net-worth private landlord on the purchase and finance of a portfolio of 17 properties.
  • Acted for a high-net-worth landlord on an intergroup transfer of a portfolio of over 20 properties.

Dave is a specialist in hotel and leisure property law, advising on acquisitions, financings, franchising arrangements, and disposals for UK and international hotel operators.
