Philip has extensive experience in UK and EU financial services regulation and funds matters, including work relating to the interpretation of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and the secondary legislation that supports it.
He has particular expertise in navigating the regulatory challenges and compliance needs of the private investment fund industry, addressing issues such as fund formation, operational compliance, and investor relations, with a specific focus on the regulatory challenges faced by private investment funds and investment managers.
Philip also has expertise in obtaining change-in-control approval from the UK Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulation Authority in connection with the acquisition and disposal of regulated financial services businesses, in particular in the insurance and investment management spaces.
Philip advises on UK and EU financial regulation, focusing on the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive, fund formation and marketing, investor relations, operational compliance, and change in control of regulated businesses.
