Rowan specialises in resolving insurance disputes, medical and life sciences litigation, providing advice for inquests and professional regulation. She advises on product liability, clinical trial, injury and medical malpractice claims, regulations, policy coverage and wording disputes, inquests, fitness to practise investigations by regulators and public inquiries.

Rowan’s clients are insurers, private healthcare providers, manufacturers of medical products and pharmaceuticals, charities, SMEs and individuals.

  • Advised on CQC registrations.
  • Advised on a medical malpractice claim arising out of shoulder surgery which negatively affected performance.

Rowan specialises in complex product liability and medical device litigation, including pelvic mesh and PIP breast implant claims, and has extensive experience representing healthcare providers in inquests and negligence matters.

  • Acted for a medical device supplier and their insurers defending group litigation involving hundreds of product liability claims resulting from personal injury caused by PIP breast implants
  • Acted for a private healthcare group in a complex and long-running inquest involving multiple deaths
  • Acted for a charity in many inquests arising from deaths in hospitals
  • Provided advice and representation in inquest arising from death during clinical trial
