Patrick is a restructuring and insolvency specialist with more than 20 years’ experience. His broad practice covers advising on all formal processes, including administrations (and pre-packs) and liquidations. He is a cross-border specialist, advising on recognition, recovery of assets and enforcement.
Patrick advises directors, boards and creditors of failed institutional, financial, professional services, retail, and industrial businesses. He also advises on director disqualification issues, bankruptcies, and he has restored numerous companies to the register in order to pursue claims against banks.
Having practised as a litigator for most of his career, Patrick uses his vast experience to assist with the contentious aspects of insolvency, such as undoing antecedent transactions, tracing assets, and enforcement. His international cross-border work has included acting for US, German, and Russian office-holders.
Having successfully resisted the enforcement of a US judgment before the Supreme Court in the leading case of Rubin v Eurofinance, Patrick has recently acted in the Bedzhamov litigation, also before the Supreme Court.
Patrick’s clients include corporates, insolvency practitioners, distressed investors, bondholder creditors, and individuals faced with bankruptcy, as well as insolvent businesses and their boards.
Patrick also advises on all aspects of data protection.
