Keystone Law has assisted Tattersalls Online to raise over £370,000 in its charity sale of stallion nominations in aid of Giving to Ukraine and the Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.
Equine law expert Rachel Flynn and commercial lawyer Paul Renney advised the organisers Oliver St Lawrence of Oliver St Lawrence Bloodstock Ltd and Tattersalls Online on the legal aspects of the sale on a pro bono basis, which took place within three weeks of the conception of the idea.
The sale had global interest and received strong support from breeders across Europe. Whilst many buyers purchased anonymously, over 180 registered bidders were active in the sale across the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Italy and Germany.
Oliver St Lawrence commented:
“The Online Charity Auction of Stallion Nominations has been a huge success and resulted in almost 100 nominations being donated. We are extremely grateful to Rachel and Paul whose advice and support has been invaluable. We are delighted to have raised a significant amount of money for Giving To Ukraine and the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.”
Rachel Flynn added:
“It was a pleasure to work with Oliver and Tattersalls Online on this sale. Congratulations to everyone on such a fantastic event that has raised an extraordinary amount of money for worthy causes.”
Several nominations remain available to be purchased and interested parties can contact Oliver St Lawrence or Tattersalls Online regarding further opportunities to support the charities.
