“Thank you for your calmness, counsel and skill in handling this matter, it’s been hugely appreciated.”

- Mr G

Trisha is a family solicitor with over 15 years’ experience of advising on all aspects of family and relationship breakdown, with a focus on complex financial matters which often feature issues of non-disclosure or third-party interests, and cases with an international element (including Islamic divorce, validity of marriage ceremonies and foreign matrimonial settlements).

Trisha also frequently advises on domestic and international pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements for those who may be seeking to protect mid- to high-value assets that have been built up before marriage or inheritance.

In addition, Trisha has expertise in complex disputes involving children, and acts for clients in cases involving serious allegations of harm and abuse, parental alienation and drug and alcohol addiction and relocation.

Trisha’s clients include entrepreneurs, CEOs, business and land owners, housewives and often vulnerable parties from the UK and overseas.

Expertise

Trisha specialises in high-value divorce cases involving complex international assets, non-disclosure, and enforcement, with a strong track record securing freezing orders, capital provision, and maintenance across multiple jurisdictions.

Experience

  • Represented the wife of a wealthy businessman with assets in Africa, England and the BVI. The matter essentially concerned the quantification of the husband’s resources and involved non-disclosure of the highest sort. There were numerous complex inter-family dealings including gift and loan agreements and tracing of assets across multiple currencies and jurisdictions. Successfully secured a freezing order to prevent the husband from removing the value of assets in England and Wales, including a substantial property.
  • Successfully secured substantial capital and maintenance awards for clients, including a school fees order.
  • Litigated and represented a husband where assets were located in the UAE and UK and his wife was seeking division of non-matrimonial and business assets.
  • Acted for wife enforcing financial order in case with assets in Canada and the US of approximately £80 million.

Trisha has experience in disputed marriage validity cases, including matters involving historic overseas ceremonies, lack of formal documentation, and complex immigration and asylum-related evidence.

Experience

  • Litigated and represented the respondent in a validity of marriage matter where the applicant asserted that the parties were married abroad in the 1980s. There was no marriage certificate but evidence that the parties entered the UK on asylum in the 1980s claiming to be married.

Trisha has extensive experience in complex children cases, including international relocation disputes and cases involving emotional harm, psychiatric assessments, and implacable hostility to contact.

Experience

  • Represented applicant mothers in their applications to permanently relocate abroad to the USA, Australia and France.
  • Represented respondent fathers in successfully opposing applicant mothers’ applications to relocate to the UAE and Japan.
  • Advised and acted for the father where the mother was implacably hostile to unsupported contact taking place between the father and the child. This case involved a psychiatric assessment of the mother and father, complex issues of emotional harm and psychological damage to the child.

Trisha advises on wealth protection agreements for high-net-worth individuals, including pre- and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation contracts, and safeguarding inherited or gifted assets against future claims.

Experience

  • Drafted a pre-nuptial agreement for the son of a UHNW scientist and inventor. The son had received a gift of £50 million from his father, which he sought to protect. The wife challenged the pre-nuptial agreement during the parties’ subsequent divorce but was unsuccessful.
  • Drafted a post-nuptial agreement for a well-known company director married to a media personality to protect wealth exceeding £100m. He wished to protect his assets to pass them to his children from a previous marriage upon his death.
  • Advised a foreign national on a pre-nuptial agreement where she was due to marry an UHNW individual in the UK and negotiated terms for her future financial security.
  • Drafted a cohabitation agreement for an elderly female widower looking to live with her new partner and to protect assets exceeding £5m.

Trisha acts in high-value cohabitation disputes, including complex Schedule 1 and TLATA cases involving trust fraud, mental health issues, and international property across multiple jurisdictions.

Experience

  • Advised an investment banker and mother in a HNW Schedule 1 and TLATA matter against the father (also a banker) who suffers from mental health issues. The matter involved complex trust submissions as the father had fraudulently secured a declaration of trust claiming unequal ownership of assets
  • Acted for the former partner of a high-profile footballer on their cohabitation and children dispute with properties in the USA, France and Germany.
