Suzy is a technology and intellectual property lawyer with 23+ years of experience helping IP-rich, tech-driven businesses navigate complex legal landscapes in the UK and Australia.
Suzy assists software vendors and technology customers with the full spectrum of commercial technology matters. Her work spans key contracts including those relating to software development and licensing, SaaS agreements, service level agreements, and support/maintenance terms. Suzy also advises on AI governance and contracting, intellectual property, and data security. With a strong background in IP and a history of advising leading brands, Suzy has a particular interest in supporting brand-led businesses with technology matters, including technology procurement, IP and data licensing, e-retail, influencer marketing, and social media law.
Suzy’s sector experience is broad and includes technology, FMCG, food & beverage, fashion, ecommerce, fintech, beauty, professional services, energy, and agriculture.
Suzy is dual-qualified in England & Wales and Australia, and regularly deals with cross-border contracts involving Europe, the US and Australia. She has been recognised as a leading advisor in technology law, intellectual property, commercial contracts, and brand management.
In addition to her private practice experience, Suzy has held multiple in-house roles, acting as a trusted advisor to listed, multinational businesses. She can be engaged as fractional counsel and enjoys embedding within legal teams and partnering with stakeholders to provide commercially focused, strategic support.
A technology lawyer since 2007, Suzy assists with the full range of technology contracts including SaaS agreements, software development, technology procurement, data & IP licensing, information security and intellectual property. With experience acting for both vendors and technology customers, she is experienced at advising on risk allocation in technology agreements. Suzy’s work includes data licensing, IP rights, influencer marketing, GDPR compliance, e-retailing and social-media governance, as well as drafting terms of use, privacy policies and end-user agreements relating to websites, mobile apps, and digital marketplaces.

She has extensive experience drafting and negotiating IP licences, joint development agreements, and data licences for clients in the technology, pharmaceutical, fashion, FMCG, food & drink, and e-commerce sectors. Suzy can support clients with trade mark and copyright issues, brand enforcement, IP ownership and structuring, knowhow and confidentiality, and the commercialisation and safeguarding of IP assets in both digital and traditional markets.

Drawing on her extensive litigation experience, she can advise clients on risk allocation, liability, termination, and early-stage contract disputes across a range of industries.
