Scott has over 20 years’ experience handling high-value, strategically important real estate transactions for institutional and private clientele.

He has an established track record advising property funds, developers and lenders on the acquisition, development, leasing and asset management of investment-grade stock in the office, industrial, retail and residential sectors.

Scott’s practice is now primarily focussed on investment and asset management mandates in the high-value office sector, where he has vast experience advising landlords, tenants and operators. Scott regularly supports businesses in the professional and financial services sectors on their HQ acquisitions and major office relocation projects.

Additionally, Scott has excellent credentials acting for investors, funders and developers in relation to their residential real estate assets.

Scott advises on high-value commercial real estate matters including investment acquisitions, asset management, sale and leasebacks, M&A support, tenant HQ moves, and corporate real estate transactions across diverse sectors.

Experience

  • Represented the portfolio companies of an Australian investment bank, in relation to their respective acquisitions of global HQ offices in the recently developed HYLO Building (Bunhill Row) and JJ Mack Building (Farringdon).
  • Represented a major onshore-solar developer in relation to its acquisition of global HQ office in W.RE’s recently redeveloped 75 Grosvenor Street.
  • Represented a listed software company on the sale and leaseback of its London office HQ.
  • Handled the disposals of various investment-grade assets (including 75 King William Street (EC4), The Asticus Building (SW1), and 101 Barbirolli Square (Manchester) for a pension fund).
  • Acquired 3-8 Whitehall Place (SW1) for a well-known fund.
  • Advised a well-known domestic real estate fund on in excess of £400m worth of investment acquisitions and disposals in the office, PRS, retail and industrial subsectors.
  • Represented a global financial services firm on the acquisition of multiple floors in The Scalpel EC3, a flagship City of London office tower.
  • Acted for the funder in relation to the acquisition and forward-funding (for refurbishment and repurposing) to create the Montefiore Hospital in Brighton.
  • Advised a developer in relation to numerous residential and mixed-use development schemes.
  • Acted for a technology company on its corporate acquisition of a specialist software provider, which involved dealing with real estate assets located in multiple international jurisdictions.

Scott specialises in residential property development and finance, advising on complex acquisitions, investment and development loan facilities, and structuring deals for both lenders and borrowers in high-value residential projects.

Experience

• Acquired various residential assets in the £3m+ price bracket for discerning high-net-worth individuals and families; including, for example, the London residences of: (i) a high-profile film producer; (ii) a partner of a magic circle law firm; and (iii) the CEO of an international investment bank.
• Acquired One Eighty Stratford High Street E15 for a fund. The asset comprised a 24-storey residential development including 188 apartments and 2 ground-floor retail units.
• Advised a syndicate of lenders in relation to a £250m central London residential-led mixed-use development loan facility.
• Represented a high-net-worth owner in relation to the refurbishment and extension of a Mayfair townhouse.
• Advised a developer in relation to the full life-cycle of various residential development schemes – from due diligence and site assembly, through to acquisition, financing, construction, marketing and disposal of completed units.
