Raza is a commercial litigation associate who acts for a broad range of clients, including banks, entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, and corporate entities operating in a range of sectors. He advises on complex commercial disputes, civil fraud, professional negligence, injunctive relief, and international arbitration, often involving high-value, multi-jurisdictional elements. His work regularly relates to contentious matters arising from contractual disputes, shareholder conflicts, reputational harm, and enforcement of arbitration awards. Raza frequently represents clients in the High Court and has acted on urgent and high-profile injunctive relief, professional negligence claims, and defamation and harassment matters.

Prior to joining Keystone, Raza worked at a Magic Circle firm and a leading City firm, where he gained exposure to cross-border commercial disputes, regulatory investigations, and international arbitration. He also completed a client secondment at a Big Four accountancy firm.

  • Acted for a high-profile PPE company with regard to a specific performance and unfair prejudice multi-million-pound dispute.
  • Acted for an international Swedish metal contractor in relation to non-payment of an arbitration award.
  • Acted for a national construction company and individual in relation to a harassment dispute in the High Court, King’s Bench Division. Won at trial and obtained a permanent injunction and considerable damages.
  • Acted for homeowners in a professional negligence claim against a surveyor regarding serious undisclosed structural defects in a property. The dispute involved allegations of failure to identify critical structural issues, inadequate reporting, and failure to recommend further investigation, leading to substantial remedial works exceeding £369,000.
  • Acted for a high-profile Malaysian government official and their affiliated company in a Commercial Court dispute. The claim involved allegations of breach of a loan agreement concerning the financing of an aircraft purchase.
  • Acted for a high-profile international investment group in a professional negligence claim against a leading law firm, arising from a £10 million loan provided for high-value residential developments in Central London.
  • Acted for a leading tile company in a multimillion-pound High Court claim against an international manufacturer involving breach of contract, misrepresentation, copyright infringement, and a challenge to the validity of a UK registered international trade mark. The dispute arose from an exclusive supply agreement for large format ceramic slabs, concerning contractual obligations and distribution rights in the UK.
  • Acted for a global leader in aerospace, defence, and industrial technology in High Court proceedings and successfully obtained without notice injunctive relief to restrain acts of unlawful direct action protest at multiple UK sites.
  • Acted for the largest independent distributor of appliances, consumer electronics, professional audio/video equipment, furniture and housewares in the United States, in defending a Commercial Court claim.
  • Acted for a veterinary practice involving a claim of over £600,000 arising from a long-standing loan agreement with a former employee and shareholder.
  • Acting in relation to a high-value, multi-jurisdictional dispute concerning a claim exceeding USD$21 million arising out of a project in Iraq. The dispute involves complex factual allegations spanning Iraq, Jordan, and the UK.
  • Acted for an international clothing manufacturer, in a multi-jurisdictional claim for over USD$560,000 against a major global fashion retailer, arising from unpaid invoices under multiple supply contracts.

Raza advises on high-value aviation litigation, including fatal air accidents and aircraft leasing disputes, with expertise in negligence, contract breaches, and operational liability involving commercial and emergency aviation.

Experience

  • Acting for the estate and dependant of a deceased pilot in a High Court aviation negligence claim against an aircraft operator and commander. The dispute concerns allegations of inadequate flight planning, unsafe aerobatic manoeuvres, aircraft overloading, and improper modifications, leading to a fatal crash.
  • Acted on the Boeing 777 Malaysian Airlines MH17 air accident.
  • Acted on the Boeing 777 Malaysian Airlines MH370 air accident.
  • Acted for a leading air ambulance provider in a High Court dispute against an aircraft lessor, concerning the wrongful termination of a lease agreement for a medically equipped aircraft. The dispute involved allegations of repudiatory breach of contract, the enforceability of lease renewal provisions, and damages arising from operational disruption, maintenance costs, and financial losses.
