Claire is an experienced solicitor who specialises in advising private clients on inheritance tax and estate planning, wills, and the administration of estates for UK and non-UK-domiciled high-net-worth individuals. She also has experience dealing with Lasting Powers of Attorney, trusts, and the charities sector.

Expertise

Claire advises UK-domiciled and non-UK-domiciled clients on will drafting, cross-border probate and inheritance tax planning, addressing complex family circumstances and international assets to ensure efficient succession and long-term wealth preservation.

Experience

  • Will drafting for international clients in a variety of jurisdictions, often involving complicated family situations.
  • Administering estates including those involving multiple jurisdictions, complex family circumstances and intestate estates.
  • Advising on how to protect and preserve family wealth through inheritance tax and estate planning.

Claire advises on the creation, administration and winding up of trusts, supporting trustees on governance and tax treatment while structuring trust arrangements.

Experience

  • Assisting in creating new trusts and winding up existing ones, and advising trustees generally including on the tax treatment of trusts.
  • Assisting in asset structuring for wealth preservation through trusts, foundations and companies.

Claire advises on charity formation, registration, administration and legacy matters, supporting governance, donations and trustee decision-making while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and effective management of charitable assets and legacies.

Experience

  • Advising on the formation, registration, administration and merger of charities.
  • Day-to-day administration of charities, including preparing donation documentation, maintaining bank accounts and attending trustee meetings.
